This software tests understanding of topics. The teacher inputs a set of matching concepts, such as "Cat" and "An animal which purrs".
The concepts then appear on the screen as draggable rectangles. The students have to drag each term so that it covers its matching term.
If they are correct a tick is displayed. If they are wrong a cross is displayed.
A score is kept and there is an optional timer.
There is a choice of colour schemes.
This product is a variant on the traditional game.
It will suit any subject at any level.
It comes with a separate program to input the concepts the teacher wants to test.
The teacher chooses which words they want to test, and adds hints and definitions.
They can choose up to ten separate categories e.g. "Geographical terms", "History" and include ten words in each category.
The learner then has to pick letters from the alphabet to guess the word.
A score is kept and sounds are optional.
There is also a choice of colour schemes.
The teacher can choose up to ten subject categories and can input up to 14 words in each. To each word a matching explanation is given.
When the learner starts the game they are asked to choose any of 4 levels in which words are arranged:
level 1: horizontally and vertically.
level 2: horizontally, vertically and backwards.
level 3: horizontally, vertically and diagonally.
level 4: horizontally, vertically, diagonally and backwards.
Students use the mouse to highlight words they can find and as they find words these are eliminated from the list of choices.
As the game progresses an optional timer operates.
The score is kept also.
Ideal for adding variety to lessons but can also be used by the student alone.
This game adds variety and interactivity to any lesson.
The teacher inputs the concepts they wish to test. They can choose up to 8 categories and can enter 8 matching terms into each of those categories.
e.g. An English teacher might input a category for Famous Authors and another for synonyms.
Within each category the teacher then inputs up to 8 matching terms e.g. "Dickens" and "Author of Bleak House".
The teacher then saves these choices.
When the student starts the Matching Game they have to click on matching squares. If they match any two up correctly those two become out of play.
The game continues until all the terms have been matched.
At the end of the game a timer tells the student how long they took.
